Scope and definitions

“AegisCore,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to AegisCore, the company that operates Merchant Economics. “Site” means the Merchant Economics website. “Services” means the payment-cost intelligence, analysis, account, and related features we make available through the Site or under a customer agreement. “You” means a visitor or user of the Site or Services.

This policy applies to information we process through the Site and Services. Your use of them is also subject to our Terms & Conditions and any applicable customer agreement.

Information we collect

Information you provide

When you request a demo or begin account setup, we may collect your work email, optional phone number, company name, role, team size, plan preference, reason for contacting us, and any notes or other information you submit.

When you use Savant or another interactive feature, we may collect your work email, prompts and questions, card-identification details entered for a lookup (such as the first eight digits), payment amounts, and the results returned to you.

If your organization becomes a customer, we may also process account information, contracts, processor statements, transaction information, payment policies, and other business data your organization chooses to provide. An applicable customer agreement may contain additional terms governing that data.

Information collected automatically

When you access the Site or Services, we and our service providers may automatically receive limited technical information, including IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages or features requested, and access dates and times. We use this information to deliver, secure, diagnose, and improve the Site and Services.

Cookies and similar technologies

We or our hosting and security providers may use session cookies or similar technologies that are necessary to operate, authenticate, and protect the Site and Services. We do not currently use advertising cookies or sell information for targeted advertising. You can control cookies through your browser settings, although blocking essential cookies may affect functionality.

How we use information

We may use information to:

• Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Site and Services.
• Respond to inquiries, demo requests, and account requests.
• Analyze payment costs and produce the outputs or recommendations requested by you or your organization.
• Authenticate users, administer accounts, provide support, and diagnose technical problems.
• Understand service performance and improve our features and user experience.
• Prevent fraud, misuse, and security incidents; enforce our agreements; and comply with legal obligations.

How we disclose information

We may disclose information:

• To hosting, infrastructure, security, communications, analytics, support, and other vendors that process information for us under appropriate obligations.
• To professional advisers such as lawyers, auditors, insurers, and accountants when reasonably necessary.
• When we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, necessary to respond to legal process, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or security concerns, or enforce our agreements.
• In connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of all or part of our business, subject to applicable law.
• With your direction or consent.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

AI-assisted features

Some Merchant Economics features may use artificial-intelligence service providers to process prompts, files, or other content and return an analysis. When these features are enabled for a customer, relevant provider and data-handling terms may also appear in the applicable customer agreement or product notice. Do not submit personal or confidential information unless you are authorized to do so.

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, fulfill the purposes described in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary based on the type of information and the context in which it was collected.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of certain personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. Some information may be exempt from a request where permitted by law.

You may opt out of promotional email by using the unsubscribe link in the message or by contacting us. We may still send non-promotional messages about your account, requests, security, or changes to our policies.

Children’s privacy

Merchant Economics is a business service and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

The Site or Services may link to third-party websites or services. Their privacy practices and terms govern your use of those services; this policy does not apply to information they collect independently. We encourage you to review their privacy notices.

We may update this policy as our practices, Services, or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy and update the date above. If a change is material, we may provide additional notice where required by law.
